We’ve been considering getting a FoodSaver for a while now. This model looks great especially with the handheld sealer and wine stopper. I think we may finally get this. There’s an instant rebate this month for the replacement bags but not for the sealer. Where is the instant rebate for this item, Costco?

Do you own a FoodSaver? Is it worth getting?

I have a previous version of FoodSaver and absolutely love it!! You cannot go wrong with this updated version with the marinator. I would love to get it myself, but can’t justify getting another until I give away or sell my other. 🙂

      hi Helen,
Yes, I think we’re finally going to get a FoodSaver…and there’s a $30 rebate in the new coupon book! 🙂 One thing we weren’t sure about – Can we use this to reseal big bags of chips? Or can we only use this to seal stuff in the FoodSaver bags?
Maybe you can put this item in your Santa Wish List? 😉

      • Helen Teeples

Haven’t tried resealing chips, but it might work (or it might melt the bag). I love the fact that if you want to do fresh meat, just put it in the freezer for an hour or so until the juices freeze, then it won’t squish out all the juice. You’ll love it!

I have an older model and it is still going strong but I did buy the Costco one for $119 as a back up for the current one. And you can seal the chip bag with no problems.

      hi Peppi,
Thanks for the info regarding the chip bag. We’ll be trying it out soon 🙂

  • misterdata

yes its worth getting. have had one for many years and it’s starting to show signs of wearing out. Like the pulse vacuum button for squishy stuff. Like the built in bag holder, Like the ability to seal chip bags also — probably will like the marinate feature too, not sure. Lately I have been finding FoodSaver canisters and other accessories at GoodWill. Any time I can buy a $12 FoodSaver canister for $1.99, I’ll jump on it.
