Goyette and Robledo Wines

Every now and then, you’ll see a table set up in the wine section at Costco. There’ll be a representative there promoting certain wines.

This week, there was a special promotion for wines from Goyette Winery in Sonoma County and Robledo Winery in Lake County.

There were 2 wines from Goyette Winery – a 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2011 Pinot Noir.

The Cabernet Sauvignon was a Gold Medal Winner at the January 2013 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. It was priced at $14.49.

The Pinot Noir was a Double Gold Medal Winner at that same competition. It was priced at $13.99.

There was also a 2012 Sauvignon Blanc from The Robledo Family Winery. It was a Gold Medal Winner and highly recommended by the Beverage Tasting Institute. It was judged at $22 but priced only at $7.99 at Costco.

I ended up picking up a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc. We had it with dinner tonight and really enjoyed it.

The wine was light and fruity,  just like it was described, and slightly sweet. It was a great wine for a Sunday evening!

While supplies last. Inventory and pricing at your store may vary.

At the back of the bottle was a great story about the Robledo Family Winery and the story behind the name….
