The popular Instant Pot has made it its way to Costco! We spotted the Instant Pot Nova Plus 6 Quart in the store this week.
This pressure cooker can also function as a slow cooker, a rice cooker, steamer, yogurt maker, etc.

We bought an Instant Pot about 2 years ago and use it a lot. The best part about cooking in the Instant Pot is the ability to set it up and walk away.
It’s hard to do so if you’re cooking on the stovetop or in the oven.
One thing to bear in mind is the cooking time. While it’s true that once the pot has come up to pressure, it may only take 6 minutes to cook chicken. But it does take about 10-15 minutes to come up to pressure first and then cook the 6 minutes at high pressure. Once that’s done, we normally let it cool down for about 10 minutes before releasing the pressure.
All in all, it may still take about 30 minutes to cook chicken. But you don’t have to stand, stir or be around it during that 30 minutes.
It’s great for cooking large cuts of meat like pot roast, pork shoulder, ribs, etc.
We were skeptical initially but the Instant Pot is a great addition to our kitchen and we use it regularly. Do you have an Instant Pot? Please let us know!
