Lagavulin 16-Year Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is made in the remote Scottish isle of Islay. This whiskey is from a well-known distillery, established in 1816.
The tasting notes describe this scotch as dark and intense, pungent and potent.
Islay has peat bogs traditionally used for heating homes, and this peat is used to give the whiskey is smokey flavor.
If you’re new to peaty scotch, you may want to add a few drops of water to the glass.

Bob Simon was working on the piece before his untimely death. It’s a great story and you can still watch it on cbsnews.com if interested.
