Brita Monterey Pitcher

We have a Pur water dispenser, and it was fine for several years. We’re not sure if they changed the design or content of the filter, but the filters started clogging up very quickly, sometimes after only about a week or two. Tired of constantly changing filters, we bought a Brita Pitcher from Costco last year.

So far, it’s been working perfectly. The pitcher has a 10-cup capacity, which is a bit small for us. A larger family may need more than one pitcher.

Each filter should be able to filter 40 gallons or about 2 months of use. There is an indicator light with “Change Soon” and “Replace” to let you know when you should change the filter. The indicator can be reset each time you change the filter.

When using a new filter, you’ve to first soak it for 15 minutes. Then insert the filter into the pitcher.

One inconvenience is that they do recommend that you discard the first 3 pitchers of water or use it to water your plants. Our Pur filter did not have this extra step.

The set includes 1 Brita Pitcher and 2 filters.

The Brita Monterey Pitcher is normally priced at $29.99.

There’s an $8 instant rebate in the October Coupon Book, reducing the price to $21.99.
