Ciao Ultimate Carry-On

Airlines have been getting more and more strict regarding the size of carry-ons. On our last trip, while checking-in online, United reminded us at least twice regarding the size limit for carry-ons. It was 56 cm x 35 cm x 22 cm (22″ x 14″ x 9″), including wheels and handles.

Most of the carry-ons sold at Costco, including the Ricardo one which we purchased last year, are actually larger than those limits. You can generally get away with it in the US, unless they ask you to put it in the luggage sizer. You’ll have to check it in if it cannot fit in the sizer.

But if you’re traveling in Europe and elsewhere, and on one of the budget airlines like Easy Jet or Ryan Air, the rules are strict and those carry-ons are too large and won’t be allowed. So definitely check the dimensions and limits prior to traveling.

Dimensions for the Ciao Ultimate Carry-On are 48.9 cm x 31.3 cm x 21.6cm (19.25″ x 13.5″ x 8.5″). It falls within United’s limits and weighs only 1.1 kg or 2.4 lbs.

It doesn’t have wheels though.
