Daelmans Caramel Wafers Stroopwafels

Stroopwafel is an interesting treat from Holland! Daelmans Caramel Wafers or Stroopwafels are soft, toasted waffles filled with caramel, cinnamon and real Bourbon vanilla.

Daelman Stroopwafels can be eaten as-is straight out of the bag at room temperature.

But you could also try them warm. The box even has an illustration to show you how it’s done traditionally in Holland!

Rest the Stroopwafel on top of a steaming hot cup of coffee (or cocoa) for about a minute. Enjoy the aroma of Caramel and Cinnamon as it warms and softens the filling.

Of course you could also microwave it but where’s the fun in that?

UPDATE 11/01/13: We bought a box to try. My sister has had this in Amsterdam and told us it’s good. And it is! Love the gooey caramel sandwiched between the waffle. Great treat for our weekend mornings!
