Kirkland Signature 24 Large Organic Eggs
The Kirkland Signature 24 Large Organic Eggs are another item that we frequently purchase at Costco. These are large, USDA Grade AA brown eggs.
We used to purchase the regular eggs at Costco but switched to organic eggs in late 2008/early 2009.
In 2008, California had a proposition on the ballot regarding Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty. During that time, there were documentaries, secret videos made regarding how these animals were confined in terrible conditions. After reading and watching them, we knew better.
The organic eggs are more expensive than the regular ones but we feel they’re worth it because the eggs are laid by hens that:
- live in a cage-free environment
- eat certified organic feed
- do not receive hormones or antibiotics
Prices do vary from time to time. The Kirkland Signature 24 Large Organic Eggs cost $6.99 in July 2013.
UPDATE 08/24/13: The eggs were only $6.49 today. Or $3.25/dozen.
