Naturesmart Organic Chicken Feed

Which came first, the chicken coop or the chicken feed? Well, at Costco we first saw the Habitats Chicken Coop in August so it came first. 😉  We just spotted the Naturesmart Organic Chicken Feed this week.

Definitely surprising to find organic chicken feed at Costco! It was placed in the back, near the Bounty paper towels at the San Jose store.

This 16-layer complete feed is designed to be fed to Laying Hens from the onset of lay through the laying cycle.

Feeding Directions: Begin feeding this feed when layers begin laying eggs. Feed this complete feed continuously as the sole ration. Keep feeders about half filled at all times. Provide grit and oyster shell in a small pan or in with the feed if birds are confined to a cage. Grit helps in feed digestion and oyster shell provides additional calcium for stronger shells. Layers should have 15 to 17 hours of light per day for optimum laying potential. Gather eggs 3 to 4 times daily and store at 50 to 60 F and 70 to 80% humidity for best quality. Provide plenty of fresh, clean water at all times.
