PUBLISHED 08/04/13: Coconut seems to be everywhere these days and now we’ve spotted the Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil at Costco. It claims to the the “World’s Best Cooking Oil” on the bottle, touting 100% less cholesterol than butter. Maybe so, but it’s high in saturated fat.

Nutiva’s Coconut Oil is:

– Cold-pressed – not refined, deodorized or bleached.

– Organic – No pesticides, GMOs or hexane

– Versatile – can be used for cooking, baking, skin care, etc.

– Non-Hydrogenated and has no trans fat

The coconut oil is a solid at room temperature and melts at 76 F. Adding a pinch of salt supposedly reduces the coconut flavor.

The Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is available in a 78 oz bottle for $21.49.
