Roku 3 Streaming Player

Roku’s back! We generally see it back in the store during the holiday season. The Roku 3 Streaming Player is the newest and latest model.
The first thing that strikes you is how small it is, only 3.5 x 3.5 x 1 inches and weighs only 5 oz.
With this device, a HDTV and broadband connection, you’ll be able to stream movies from Netflix, Vudu, Amazon Instant Video, HBO GO, Hulu Plus, etc. You’ll need subscription to those services to actually watch movies, of course.
Besides movies, you can also stream music, sports, news, weather, etc. and even play Angry Birds.
With the Roku 3, you can also “beam” videos and photos in your phone’s gallery to your TV.
If you need streaming capabilities, the Roku 3 is a great option. But it’s a much harder sell if you already have a PlayStation or Xbox or even a Smart TV that offers many of the same streaming channels. We have an Xbox and it’s been sufficient for our needs.
The Roku 3 offers many more channels but how many does one really need? That’s for you to decide.
