We go through these Sun-Maid Organic California Raisins so fast that sometimes I think there must be a third or fourth person in the house.
We buy a box practically every month. Raisins with cereal, oats, salads, it’s all good 🙂
Did you know that the Sun-Maid girl trademark was inspired by a real person? Her name was Lorraine Collett Petersen and she was discovered drying her black hair curls in the sunny backyard of her parents’ home in Fresno, California back in May 1915.
She was then asked to pose for a painting while holding a tray of fresh grapes. This image was first applied to packages of Sun-Maid raisins in 1916.
You can learn more about the story at Sun-Maid’s website.
The raisin grapes are grown in California and certified organic.
Each box at Costco contains 2 bags of raisins, weighing 2 lbs each.
The Sun-Maid Organic California Raisins 4-lb box is currently priced at $8.69. (prices do vary, earlier this year it was $7.99/box)
