PUBLISHED 09/13/13: Costco currently carries the TruRoots Organic Quinoa in the store and the price has increased twice already this year. We wondered if Costco is still cheaper for this item.

We prefer to compare exact products but unfortunately, the Whole Foods we went to did not have the TruRoots Organic Quinoa (have you seen it at your Whole Foods?).

But it did have the Whole Foods 365 Everyday Value Organic Quinoa. It is also Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified and a Product of Bolivia.

It was priced at $3.99 for a 16 oz bag.

Unit price is 24.94 cents/oz.

At Costco, the TruRoots Organic Quinoa is currently priced (Sept 2013) at $10.99 for a 4-lb bag.

Just like the Whole Foods 365 Everyday Value Organic Quinoa, it’s Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified and a Product of Bolivia.

Unit price is 17.17 cents/oz.

So, is Costco cheaper for organic quinoa? Yes!

Costco is 31% cheaper than Whole Foods for Organic Quinoa, even despite the price increases.

So continue buying it from Costco and you’ll be saving some money.
