Jamaican Beef Patties
We spotted Jamaican Beef Patties at Costco in Orlando, Florida. These are a typical lunch treat in Jamaica. They are essentially beef turnovers (like empanadas). They’re spicy, containing hot peppers.
These are fully-baked, then frozen an packed in individual wrappers.
Prepare by microwaving for two minutes, or heating in an oven or toaster oven.
We tried these and are glad we did. We used a toaster oven and followed the instructions on the box. 15 minutes at 400 F was just right.
The beef is nicely flavored, spicy but not overly so. The crust is tasty, but could be a bit more flaky. These make for a delicious lunch.
Jamaican Beef Patties are priced at $10.59 for 10-count.
