I’ve always wondered why the Kirkland Signature Natural Citrus Body Wash is not priced more competitively, especially when compared to the Olay and Dove body washes.

There’s frequently coupons for the Olay and Dove body washes which make them much cheaper than the Kirkland Signature option. We’ve been using Olay for years but have never tried this KS Natural Citrus Body Wash.

I finally took a closer look this week and realized why.

The┬áKirkland Signature body wash contains 100% pure plant extracts and has no parabens or sulfates. It’s biodegradable and is never tested on animals.

Ingredients include plant extracts like olive, basil, chamomile, seaweed, gingko biloba, pomegranate, mangosteen peel, goji berry and acai. Almost sounds good enough to eat!

But wait, there’s more. It also contains peel oils like mandarin orange, orange, grapefruit, tangerine, peppermint, etc.

Can you smell it now? čÖé

The Kirkland Signature Natural Citrus Body Wash is available in a 2-pack with 27 oz each.

It is priced at $9.99 for the 2-pack.

Item number 481397.

Inventory and pricing at your store may/will vary.

Have you tried the Kirkland Signature Natural Citrus Body Wash? Do you like it?

I have used it and I do like it. My husband says its a strong citrus scent but I think it’s pleasant. I do wonder who makes this product though (just curious!).

    • Olli

      hi Kacee,
I think it must smell great with all the peel oils in it! Maybe I’ll try it one of these days. Please report back if you find out who makes this item. Thanks!

Wife bought two bottles but haven’t figured out how to get the plunger up to dispense the product. Tried every way I can think of to get the top to release and go up so she can use it, it stays stuck in the down position and there was no instructions pretaining to this.

    • Olli

      hi Larry,
I’ve not used this particular product so not sure how it really works. But from my experience with other bottles, the way to get the “plunger” to pop-up is to hold down/onto the bottom portion of the cap, while turning the upper portion (with the spout) round and round a few times till it pops up.
      Hope this helps,

  • Larry B.

Thanks Olli, I found that there is a collar between the plunger and the screw on cap and I was holding the collar and twisting the plunger and it came loose. thanks again

    • Olli

      hi Larry,
Thanks for checking back. I’m really happy to hear that you managed to solve that issue! And I’m sure your wife is happy too that she can now use the body wash easily čÖé

Bought this item yesterday and we have a new household favorite. I was going to buy the neutrogena ocean mist body wash for $17.99 for 40 ounces but this one caught my eye. it is much better value at under $10 for 54 ounces. Formulation feels silk and non-drying, and the smell is a refreshing (reminds you of orange peels). A must try.
The only critique is the huge size of the bottle doesnt make it very portable for the gym or the pool, but I poured some out into a smaller bottle that I had just used up, and that works for use outside home.

      hi Akansha,
Thanks for the review! We’ll have to try it sometime…

This body wash gave me itchy hives all over. I’ve never had an allergic reaction to any skin care product before, nor do I have particularly sensitive skin or any other known allergies. There’s something in this formula that can trigger an allergic response in some people. It’s too bad, because I like the idea of plant extracts and the smell is nice.

OK, I’m glad im not the only one who experienced a horrible reaction to this product. I am currently covered in small itchy bumps, mostly on my torso and arms. I bought it thinking it would be OK to use since im hypoallergenic to most products out there… but it was a disaster. I was told you can return the item, no questions asked.

      • Olli

Sorry to hear about your allergy. It may be worthwhile to keep track of the ingredients and compare it to another product should the reaction occur again. I wonder if it’s the dye they use e.g. Yellow 6 and Red 4, that caused the reaction. I don’t know why they’ve to use dyes in this product.

  • snavetenaj

I have just bought this and it is great. Do you know why the put yellow 6 and red 4?? And is this harmful. It sounds like all the other ingredients are plant based and what you are saying there is no mineral oil? I hear this is in every product. Thanks !! Janet

  • We use this body wash! I just recently tried to look it up in EWG’s skin deep cosmetics database, and it wasn’t there so I typed in the ingredients on my own. It comes back as a 3, which isn’t horrible. The ingredients causing the increased score are lactic acid, cocamidropropyl betaine, penoxyethanol, and red #4. I plan to keep using it. I really like how well it foams, the scent doesn’t trigger migraines, and the price is right!
