It’s easy enough to make pancakes from scratch but if want to shave off a few minutes of prep time, then check out the Kodiak Cakes Flapjack and Waffle Mix.

It’s very easy to use – just add 1 cup mix and 1 cup water or milk, blend/whisk and it’ll make about six 4″ flapjacks. By the way, are flapjacks really any different from pancakes?

Anyway, we tried it and we still prefer the Central Milling Organic 6-Grain Pancake Mix which had just reappeared in the store after months of absence.

The Kodiak pancakes felt rather plain whereas the Central Milling pancakes are nutty and more flavorful.

We often ate the Central Milling pancakes on its own without any syrup but felt that the Kodiak ones needed the syrup.

Have you tried any of the mixes? Which one do you prefer?

The Kodiak Cakes Flapjack and Waffle Mix is normally priced at $11.99.

I prefer the Central Milling Organic 6-Grain Pancake Mix as well
although my brother’s wife is not a fan, she doesn’t like the grainy texture.

My nephew in college wants to gain muscle weight so he’d probably prefer Kodiak cakes over regular pancakes.
