Nuovo Pasta Organic Roasted Pumpkin Pasta Purse

PUBLISHED 09/26/13: Just spotted these really cute Nuovo Pasta Organic Roasted Pumpkin Pasta Purse this week. They were next to the Nuovo Pasta Organic Kale and White Bean Ravioli.

The orange “purses” are filled with slow roasted organic pumpkin, creamy white organic cheddar, and a hint of toasted spices.

The pasta is Certified Organic and looking at the list of ingredients, there appears to be no artificial coloring used. The organic annatto oil was probably used to color the pasta, thus the orange color.

I checked their website and it stated that their artisan pasta products “are crafted in our HACCP certified, USDA inspected, state-of-the-art facility in Stratford, CT. All fillings at Nuovo are created by hand in the tradition of fine chefs and held to exacting standards that have earned us national awards and critical acclaim at culinary competitions.

I think we’ll pick up a bag of this to try next time. It seems like a great time for some pumpkin pasta!

The pasta is available in a 2-pack, each with 16 oz. One serving size is 1 cup and each pack contains about 4.5 cups.

One cup is 260 calories.

UPDATE 10/15/13: We bought a bag and they’re yummy! The pumpkin filling is fragrant. I could taste/smell the cinnamon, nutmeg and other spices. And like Lisa mentioned below, only takes 3 minutes! Great for a weeknight meal.
